It is always an honor for us to work with our local celebrities. At this function we had the privilege of providing sound equipment for the “Witbank Flooze” Sorina Erasmus. What a pleasure to work for one of South Africa’s award wining comedy singers.

We arrived at 10:00 in the morning @ Oxbow Country Estate and had a very tight schedule to adhere to because of all the activities that was planned by Zetske and Margaux the wedding planner.

First we had to set up in the function hall and we had quite an elaborate setup with 3 light trussing and some par can lights with mood lights for atmosphere and color.

The chapel setup was quite a challenge because of the location. The distance from the nearest power point was about 50m and we had the local and international performer Joseph Clarke that sang 2 songs in the chapel and we also had a guitarist and singer that sang while Zetske entered the ceremony area concentration levels had to be very high to pull this off. BUT WE DID !!!

At 13:30 we had our first sound check and we practised the entering of the groomsmen into the reception hall on the song “Men In Black – By Will Smith” and we also did 2 separate sound checks with Joseph Clark and Altus Theart they sang 2 surprise songs during the reception.

Then there was a quick run through with the MC and a comedic interview that involved 10 or so songs to be played during the reception was rehearsed.

14:00 second sound check in the chapel area with the other 2 singers went smooth and at last I had 30 minutes to relax and go through the “script” that Zetske provided me before the wedding.

15:00 guests started to arrive at the ceremony area and we played some classical music…..at first we thought everything couldn’t be more perfect but…..a loose cloud decided to spoil our fun and it started raining. The wedding planners from Blank Canvas were quickly there to provide umbrellas but luckily the rain went away for a while.

Suddenly the moment of truth arrived and the bridesmaids entered the ceremony with grace while Joseph Clark sang “Feeling Good” ….Zetske appeared from behind the trees and walked alone …..her father Pierre van Pletzen (Oom Oubaas from 7de laan) jumped up and accompanied her down the isle while Deist sang “Cannonball” and she met a eagerly awaited Altus with the biggest smile I have ever seen on a grooms face.

The ceremony was led by Ds. Gideon Basson and went as smooth as any bridal couple would want their wedding ceremony to go.

The guests then moved to the cocktail hour area where Deist entertained them again with his magical voice and wonderful guitar playing.

18:15 finally guest started to enter the reception hall and the reception started with a bang…the bridesmaids entered on “Lets Twist Again” and after them the groomsmen on “Men In Black”

We had the wonderful opportunity to perform at the wedding of  Carlos Duarte and the former Miss Yvonne Aschenbrenner at Duo Of Dreams in Centurion Gauteng.

THE WEDDING

The wedding started at 15:00 and the beautiful bride arrived exactly on time. The bridesmaids entered the church on “Yanni – In The Morning Light” and they were stylishly followed by the bride on “Yanni & Enya’s – Avril’s Dance”

The Ceremony went as smooth as any bridal couple would want it to go and the Preacher illustrated the whole meaning of love in a very humorous way.

The guest had a nice relaxing cocktail hour and they chilled to some flamenco guitar music that we played from within the function hall.

The couple made their grand entrance into the reception on “Firework by Katty Perry” and their first dance was “Chasing Cars By Snow Patrol”

The party was “booming” and it looked like the guests had a great time, we even played a few Portuguese songs that went down very well !!

We had our first meeting with the delightful celebrity couple at River Meadow Manor…..we would like to thank Bonnie and Her Staff for their outstanding hospitality.

Woorde kannie genoeg beskryf hoe dankbaar ons is vir dit wat julle gister vir ons gedoen het nie, dit was absoluut BRUL – JANT !!! Van die kaasbord tot die blomme, die vonkelwyn, die tafel en die pragtige omgewing alles was perfek.

Dra asb ons dank oor aan die 2 kelners en die sjef hulle was UITSTEKEND !! en baie vriendelik soos gewoonlik. Vandat ons daar aangekom het todat ons weer gery het was dit net ‘n plesier.

Zetske en Altus was baie beindruk (en, soos ons ‘n bietjie verbaas)en meer as tevrede baie,baie dankie

This was the stunning wedding of the former Miss Christa Beyleveld and Herman de Vries at Baryard Lodge near Ermelo.

The Barnyard is situated in the heart of Mpumalanga Highveld, near Ermelo. Centrally located and a convenient stop over en route to the Kruger National Park and Swaziland

The wedding ceremony started at 15:00.

By 17:30 guests started entering the reception hall, while we changed the music atmosphere to VERY romantic music.

The bridal couple entered the hall on “’n Ewigheid – Juanita Du Plessis” The MC did a marvelous job in making the guests feel at home and the speeches and toast went smoothly.

The dance floor was opened by the couple on the very familiar song “Engel Van My Hart – Juanita Du Plessis”

The crowd (and us) had a great time and we danced the night away….

This was the Year End Function of Autotec and we were hired by our dear friend Celeste Donaldson a previous client of ours and this was actually the third time that she has hired us…..i think she likes us ? LOL

The function was held at the beautiful Nt Shonalanga Valley Nestled in the Schurweberg mountains, Nt Shonalanga valley Resort lies on the tranquil banks of the Hennops River. The resort is located close to the major business districts of Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand and Sandton. It is a mere 20min drive from Lanseria Airport and a 45 minute drive from the OR Thambo International Airport .

The Resort is situated in a beautiful and scenic valley surrounded by hills and boasts of spectacular African sunrises and sunsets. The Hennops River, which flows through the Northern boundaries of the property, allows for cascading streams to flow around the buildings into a small dam where an abundance of bird life and fish placidly co-exist.

The venue caters for events ranging from corporate conferences to banquets, weddings to private functions. It has 3 conference rooms, which can seat up to 200 delegates, a lapa that overlooks the dam and a banqueting hall that can host up to 250 guests comfortably. It also has 15 chalets and two self-catering units

This was the stunning wedding of the former Miss Lezanne Steyl and Arno Louw at Oxbow Country Estate near Bronkhorstspruit.

Oxbow Country Estate is a chic country style wedding venue and trout fly fishing estate in Gauteng. With beautifully manicured gardens and expansive highveld scenery it is a photographic and bird watcher’s bliss. The main venue, Riverbed Hall is aptly named after one of the many indigenous grass species that are wildly found on the Estate. Riverbed Hall overlooks meandering trout dams and beautiful waters with breathtaking reflections of tall historic Eucalyptus and creaky weeping Willows.

The wedding ceremony started at 15:30 and the bridesmaids entered the stylish chapel on the song “My Hele Hart by Romanz”. The church bell was rung by the very friendly and helpful wedding coordinator of Oxbow and I started playing the chorus of the very familiar South African song !!

The chapel was a bit hot and the fans was adjusted a little to make the best men and bride comfortable. The lapel microphone we used delivered crystal clear sound quality as usual and the ceremony wet as smooth as any bridal couple would want it to be.

After the beautiful ceremony the guests had a few drinks on the deck and we played real cocktail lounge music to entertain the guests while the bride and groom took their pictures.

By 17:30 guests started entering the reception hall, while we changed the music atmosphere to VERY romantic music.

The bridal couple entered the hall on “I wanna love somebody like you by Keith Uban” and Arno even made time to give his bride a nice kiss on the dance floor before they took their seats.

The MC did a marvelous job in making the guests feel at home and the speeches and toast went smoothly.

The dance floor was opened by the couple on the very familiar song “Don’t know much – Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville”

The crowd (and us) had a great time and we danced the night away….

We had the honor of performing at Nadia & Johan’s wedding reception held at Olympus Stream Wedding and Conference Centre .

We kept the crowd on the dance floor and for a crowd of 60 odd people they were very responsive and danced the night away. Everybody had a great time and the food was outstanding.

It was truly a wedding to be proud of !!!!

We had the privileged of providing sound equipment and a DJ service to Stefanutti Stocks Geo-Technical.

And we also honoured to provide sound for the well known South african Comedian Kagiso Lediga (Who gave us a huge compliment after the show for the sound quality)

It was also very pleasant to see our old friend and fellow service provider Evegenia Poplett of Splendid Affairs who did the wonderful decor.

The guests arrived at about 18:00 and everyone was in a party mood, the buzz before the evening started was crazy.

Then al the formalities happened like speeches etc. and then the big moment everyone was waiting for finally happened….”Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome on stage….one of South Africa’s best comedians KAGISO LEDIGA !!!”

I started playing “Eye of the tiger” and Kagiso took the stage, his jokes and stories were absolutely hilarious and we enjoyed working with him.

Dinner was served and Ollie and I went nuts over the raw smoked salmon we even went for a second helping of the salmon. Yummie !!

The dancing finally started and we kept them dancing up until 01:00 the next morning. Nice crowd, nice venue, Nice food what more could you ask for !!

This is our absolute favorite wedding venue and we do quite a lot of work for Bonnie Breedt the owner and event planner of this beautiful venue. This wedding of  the former Miss Beulah Luttig and Dirk Steyn was our 19th time at this venue and we are proud to be a part of Bonnie’s recommended wedding Service providers.

River Meadow Manor is Ideally located in Irene between Johannesburg and Pretoria, River Meadow Manor is easily accessible from both city centres; and is just 20 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport.

The wedding started at 16:00 and the wedding’s atmosphere was really romantic with all the trimmings in this big beautiful rose garden. The musicians and singers that performed on the day set a perfect mood for a truly memorable ceremony and their entertainment was of truly of high standard.

The ceremony went as smooth as any bridal couple could wish for and we set up a cordless lapel mic for the wedding officiant to perform the ceremony.

We kept the crowd on the doncefloor up untill the venue cut of time of 23:00 and if the venue permitted I could have kept them busy until at least 01:00 I am sure.

This was also our new trainee Wedding DJ – Pieter’s firs training session….welcome to the wedding industry bro !!

Everybody had a great time and the food was outstanding as always.

This was one of those lucky gigs….Me and Ollie had a wedding cancelation for the 29^th of October 2011 and thought we were going to have one of those rare of weekends…

Luckily we had a phone call last Thursday ti DJ a 16^th birthday party in Mnandi near Centurion. This was a very cool party with a 60’s hippie theme. And everyone joined in the fun and dressed up according to the theme of the party. Every kid young and old likes to dress up like a 60′s Hippie.

Many consider the 1960s as the decade of hippies, but the early ’70s scene was full of flower power and counter-cultural leanings as well. The hippie subculture emerged as a youth movement in opposition to the Vietnam War in the 1960s and early 1970s. Attention to mass produced food, industrialized agriculture and the environment led to widespread criticism of pesticides, mass consumption and cruelty to animals.

We arrived at about 16:00 and was set up by 17:00….by 18:00 the party was in full swing. The guest mainly aged between 14 and 18 were very lively and danced the night away up until 00:00.

We played some old 60 and 70’s music and also entertained the kids with the current chart toppers, and later in the evening some Afrikaans lang arm as well on request.

This was the wedding of the former Miss. Bianca Ellis and Mr. Kobie Koekemoer. at Elsjes Country Inn Wedding Venue in Kempton Park.  Situated in the Bredell, Kemptonpark area, 9 km from the OR Tambo International Airport and within minutes from Pretoria and Johannesburg.

Lovely peaceful atmosphere for special occasions. This is the ideal venue for accomodation, conferences, weddings, garden weddings, private functions, matric farewell functions, yearend functions, honeymoon suite, catering and bar facilities.

A chapel to seat up to 280 people with a draped bridal arch, red carpets and a lovely garden view. There is simply no better place for a wedding.

The wedding was absolutely  fabulous right from the start….

The bridesmaids walked stylishly into the chapel on “Butterfly Waltz” and they were followed by Bianca who chose “The Traditional Wedding March” from Mehndolson. The ceremony was beautiful with the stunning garden as backdrop, any photographers dream.

At the reception they entered the hall with “Lloyd Cele – You make it easy for me to love you” and opened the dance floor with “Paint My Love from MLTR” the perfect romantic atmosphere.

The groom speech was up there with the best I have ever heard “Well Done Kobie !!!”

The guest had a good time and there was a nice buzz on the dance floor, from old to young had a good time.

We kept the crowd on the dance floor and for a crowd of 100 people they were very responsive and danced the night away. Everybody had a great time and the food was outstanding.

It was truly a wedding to be proud of !!!!

Shelanti Gardens  is located in the heart of Centurion with its Country Side atmosphere, Shelanti Gardens Shelanti is a well known venue for the past thirteen years, with quality food and service for wedding receptions, corporate functions, birthday parties, engagement parties, conferences, christenings and other special events.

The wedding started at 16:00 and chapel looked wonderful with al the beautiful flower arrangements. As the bridal party entered the chapel we created a moment of silence in anticipation of the most important person of the day…..”The Bride!!!”. The wedding coordinator gave me the signall and we played Wonderful Tonight By Eric Clapton for the bridesmaid to enter …Then The Bride entered on the traditional church organ wedding march.

We DJ’ed the 21st birthday party of Rochelle De Jager this previous weekend, this was a nice break from the usual weddings for us and we enjoyed the evening very much.

The venue was beautifully made up with all the scary Halloween stuf like chucky dolls, spiders webs and skeletons everywhere you look.

While the guests were arriving we played music from all the horror films like nightmare on elms street psycho and Friday the 13th. We illuminated the room with blue LED parcan lighting and filled the room with smoke to give a real spooky, scary look, we even occasionally fired the strobe light to make it look like thunder.

The party kicked of with a few speeches and  the usual well wishes and then the food arrived PIZZA !!!

Everyone started dancing and the floor was NEVER empty until 00:30 that night. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARTIES OF THE YEAR SO FAR !!!
